Tracing
Families Back Through Time |
Backtracks
will search out and trace your family history to provide you
with a special, unique record of your ancestry, complete with
photographs, maps and local history background.
Typical sources used in the research of family history would
include records of :
- Civil
registration of birth, marriage and death from 1837 in England
& Wales.
- Census
returns from 1841 to 1901
-
Church and chapel from 1538 onwards
- Crime
and punishment
- Education
- Settlement
and the Union Workhouse
- Probate
- wills, administrations and inventories
- Property
to include both rural and urban estates, manorial courts,
tithe and enclosure.
- Taxation
records from Tudor times onwards
When the researches have been
completed, BACKTRACKS can provide you with a high quality, laminated
family tree from standard A4 size up A0 size. Other sizes and
non-laminated copies can also be provided upon request.
You can either send the GED COM file or Family Tree Maker file
to BACKTRACKS who will produce the family tree direct from your
file OR send your family history information and BACKTRACKS
will draw up a first-draft tree for you to check and approve
before going to print.
Family
Trees can be single line pedigrees, complete family trees (including
maternal lines); laid out as drop-line trees or fans.
For advice on your particular family tree or to see a sample
tree, contact Liz Carter.
The process
of researching a family history may take some time - it is not
unusual for searches to continue for 12 to 18 months or longer
depending upon the amount of material available and the historical
footprints left by your ancestors for us follow.
Backtracks offers a comprehensive service, catering for different
types of research from pure Record Agent work to detailed Genealogical
Research.
